Amazon and Ebay were among the first Internet companies to allow electronic transactions. The most popular categories of products sold in the World Wide Web are music, books, computers, office supplies and other consumer electronics.There are now a number of e commerce companies in the world. The most prominent ones are as follows:
- Amazon.com, Inc. is one of the most famous online shopping companies and is located in Seattle, Washington (USA). It was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos.
- eBay Inc. is another e commerce company headquartered in San Jose, California(USA). eBay was founded by Pierre Omidyar in 1995.
- Alibaba, a privately owned e commerce group chiefly operating in China. The company business include B2B online services, online shopping portal and many more.
